DXB is the main hub for Emirates, Qantas, and FlyDubai airlines. Terminals 1 and 3 are directly connected to the Dubai Metro too. Airport metro connects Departures and Arrivals.

Terminal 2 is currently under construction to accommodate a major expansion that will double the current capacity of 5 million passengers per year.

The Concourse A of Terminal 3 is dedicated to the giant Airbus A380 aircraft.

The distance from the busiest airport to the metropolitan Dubai City is 8.5 kilometers. You can travel through various modes such as taxis, bus or metro or you can also book a cab.
a. Taxi: Hired taxis will cost you around INR 750-900/- to reach the main city.
b. Sky Bus: Bus service charges you nearly INR 350/- for a trip to the city.
c. Metro: Dubai Metro is the cheapest mode of travel in the city and you can reach the city within INR 50-100/- per person.

2. Dubai World Central (DWC)

Located in Jebel Ali, 37 km from the beautiful Dubai city, with a 4.5 km runway, it is an engineering wonder in itself. Originally named as Al Maktoum International Airport (IATA) after Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the former ruler of Dubai, it is now known as Dubai World Central (DWC). The airport is under construction and is expected to handle approximately 160 million passengers.

Dubai World Central Airport is the world’s largest hub for passenger aircraft and the largest multimodal logistics hub that will carry over 12 million tones of cargo freight when completed. It currently serves as a hub for Emirates SkyCargo and flydubai. It will surely help the economy of Dubai to reach new heights in the world.

Amenities at the Airport

As this Dubai International Airport is still under construction, most of the facilities offered at the time are not fully functional and may not provide satisfactory service.
a. Food and Beverages: Currently, there are only three coffee shops: Costa Coffee, Starbucks, and McDonald’s, but none are open 24 hours.
b. Shopping: There is a duty-free area to shop for you, but with a limited option. You will surely enjoy shopping here as you can pick things quickly.
c. Lounges: The Marhaba Lounge is the only lounge located on Level 1 of the Passenger Terminal, accessible through a lounge pass or membership program and not limited to First Class passengers only.
d. Medical Service: There are baby care facilities, you just need to ask the attendant available there. Medical care is available 24 hours a day. There is a pharmacy called Bin Sina in the duty-free area.

How to travel to Dubai City from the Airport

The distance from the world class airport to the majestic city is around 37 kilometres. The easiest ways to travel are through cabs, taxis, buses and the best metro.
a. Taxi: Hired taxis will cost you around INR 1300-1600/- to reach the main Dubai city.
b. Sky Bus: Bus service charges you to reach the city around INR 1200-1500/-. The only problem is you might have to change a bus or two because of the change in route to your destination.
c. Metro: Metro will easily drop you at the city for nearly INR 1100-1400/- per person.
