Popularly known as ‘Visa Balaji Temple’, the Chilkur Balaji Temple is one of the most popular among India’s visa temples. The 17th century Balaji Temple situated on the banks of Osman Sagar in Hyderabad’s Rangareddy district sees a record number of visitors, up to 1 lakh every week, rushing to the temple with visa-related problems. They come here to worship Lord Balaji and his consorts, especially for their US Visa application. The temple has a highly significant history of origin and also modern-day testimonials of visitors getting their visa approval after a visit here.
To pray here, one has to first make 11 parikramas around the inner shrine and make a wow. Once your wish is completed, you must come back and complete 108 rounds of the sanctum sanctorum. It is said that this is one of the very few temples in India that does not have a donation box and a green channel (for VIPs).
Temple Timings: 5am to 8pm every day. Fridays and Sundays see a high rush of devotees.
2. Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh Gurudwara, Punjab

The 150-year-old Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh Gurudwara in Punjab’s Talhan Village is another one of the visa god temples famous among those having a visa problem. It is also known as the ‘Hawaijahaj Temple’ as it also has a model aeroplane on its roof. In exchange for answering your prayers for visa approval, the Visa gods at this temple are not appeased by fruits or flowers but instead with toy aeroplanes.
