GOA! The name itself arouses enduring excitement and joy. The city that redefines holidays is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India, not only for its beaches, night life and vibrant lifestyle, but also for its adventure sports. It offers a sea of adventure sports for tourists, with the most famous being parasailing, scuba diving, water skiing, jet skiing, speed boating, trekking and of course bungee jumping.
If you have been dreaming about doing the bungee jump, here’s some good news for you. Goa now offers two bungee jumping spots, out of which one is located at Anjuna beach and operates from a height of about 80 feet, while the other spot was recently inaugurated by Jumpin Heights on 27th August, 2019 near the Mayem Lake, North Goa. So, if you are planning to go to Goa any time soon, you can bungee jump not once, but twice!
Jumpin Heights, The Bungy People set up India’s First Extreme Adventure Zone in Rishikesh in 2010 by building India’s highest bungee jumping platform and are now thrilled to have set up their second action in the holiday capital of India; Goa. The 55 meters Jump is set up at Mayem Lake, North Goa, a 35 minutes’ drive from the very popular Baga Beach. Run by ex-Army officers and with Jump Masters trained extensively under Experts from New Zealand, Jumpin Heights adheres to Australia and New Zealand standards of safety for bungee operations and have revolutionized how safety in adventure sports is perceived in India. This glorious project is supported by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC).
Speaking to Financial Express, Captain Rahul Nigam (Managing Director and Founder) and Ms Niharika Nigam (Director – Business Development) of Jumpin Heights quoted, “We are excited to launch our 2nd Bungee location and proud to provide this platform for adventure to the youth and tourists within the beautiful state of Goa. We are grateful to the government of Goa for supporting us. Jumpin Heights was launched in 2010 and has successfully completed over 80,000 bungee jumps and has been instrumental in Rishikesh becoming the adventure capital of India, as acknowledged by the survey released in January by the Ministry of Tourism. The overwhelming response in Rishikesh is something we adore and we are expecting the same enthusiasm from Goa as well.”
Bungee jumping is definitely one of the top adventures which is on the bucket list of almost everyone. Tied to a rope and jumping from a height, gives an adrenaline experience different from other adventures. You experience a baggage of mixed emotions such as thrill, fun, nervousness, fear and even courage. It is an altogether stupefying and exhilarating experience performed under the supervision of certified professionals and with full safety measures.
