1. UAE extends its Visa-On-Arrival Policy for the UK, the US and 85 other Countries

Updating its visa exemption policy, UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a visa-on-arrival policy to ease travel for citizens of 87 countries including Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Barbados, Brazil, Belarus, Belgium, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Honduras, Hungary, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Nauru, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Russia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Bahamas, The Netherlands, UK, US, Ukraine, Uruguay, Vatican, Hellenic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Fiji and Kosovo. However, Indians will still have to obtain a Dubai visa online to visit the UAE. 

2. Asia’s Largest Tulip Garden in Srinagar opens for the General Public from March 23

Nestled between the Dal Lake and Zabarwan Hills, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Garden opened its gates to the general public for the Tulip Festival from 23rd March, i.e. Saturday to 20th April. Visitors will be greeted with a total of 17 lakh tulips of 68 varieties and other flower species like hyacinths, daffodils, muscari, and cyclamens. The latest Fly91 Airline to join the list of Indian airlines with its first flight taking off from Manohar International Airport on March 18 at 7.55 am for the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. As its inaugural offer, the airline launched a special fare of Rs. 1,991. Fly 91 plans on connecting Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities of India while providing cheap flight tickets to travellers.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is all set to offer a plethora of distinctive tourism offerings at the 42nd Thailand Tourism Festival, scheduled from 28 March to 1 April 2024 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok. TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, said “The Thailand Tourism Festival 2024 will incorporate distinctive identity and attractions from five regions to inspire travellers to explore new travel experiences across the country. The event will also reiterate sustainable tourism practices while leveraging digital transformation and the ‘partnership 360 strategy’ to encourage year-round travel.”

7. MileagePlus: United Airlines will now allow Flyers to share and pool their Air Miles with others

Frequent flyers are in for a treat as United Airlines now allows you to share your accumulated points with up to four other passengers. The newly launched programme, MileagePlus membership, will let members link their online accounts and combine their miles with those accumulated by family or friends from previous flights. Commenting on the programme, airline COO, Luc Bondar said, “This programme “gives our members more flexibility to use their miles while making it easier to connect to the destinations and moments that matter most.”

8. Experience the exciting Turtle Nesting Season at Goa’s Galgibaga Beach peaking in April

Goa’s secluded Galgibaga Beach has the status of a nesting site for Olive Ridley Sea Turtles. While the nesting process goes on from November to April, lucky visitors might get a chance to watch thousands of hatchlings make their way into the sea.
