If approved, the tunnel under the Strait of Gibraltar would facilitate a new train service between Spain and Morocco, with stops from Madrid to Casablanca, located 300 kilometers south of Tangier. Before this announcement, Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve had already announced the closure of elephant safari from May 1, followed by the suspension of jeep safari from May 16.
