Budget 2023: Finance Minister Says Tourism A Top Priority, Shares Plan To Develop 50 Destinations To Boost Tourism

While presenting the Budget 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Tourism is a priority. She also revealed that at least 50 destinations throughout the country will be selected to be developed and promoted on a large scale under the “Dekho Apna Desh”, “Swadesh Darshan Scheme”, “Vibrant Villages Programme” and several other schemes that promote domestic tourism. Besides boosting domestic tourism these schemes will also provide employment opportunities in the selected destinations and boost the country’s economy.  

US Embassy Announces Dropbox Facility For US Visa Renewal

In their efforts to reduce US visa interview wait time, the US Embassy has decided to provide a dropbox facility to applicants who wish to apply for their US visa renewal. Further, the Embassy also added that visa renewal requests would not be entertained through email.

Presidential Gardens Now Open For Public Viewing

Amrit Udyan, earlier known as Mughal Gardens is now open for general public viewing till March 26. Philippines To Offer Online Visa And Tax Refunds To Foreign Tourists

The Philippines is gearing up to attract more tourists and boost tourism in the country. As per the recent report by the Presidential Communications Office, the President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos recently gave the approval to launch online Philippines visa for Indian, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean tourists. Along with that a VAT refund program for all foreign tourists on items they are planning to take back with them out of the Philippines was also approved.

Hong Kong To Give Free Flight Tickets

In a bid to attract tourists and promote tourism, Hong Kong plans to give away free flight tickets to tourists. These 500,000 air tickets will be given under the newly launched “Hello Hong Kong” campaign. Tourists will also be able to enjoy special offers and vouchers among the other incentives of the campaign. France And Germany To Give Free Train Tickets

In order to attract more young tourists, 60,000 train tickets between France and Germany, will be given away for free by both the European nations collectively. Meaning, both nations will be issuing and distributing 30,000 free tickets each. The aim of these free train tickets is to help tourists travel across Europe smoothly.

Air India Resumes Direct Flight Between Milan And Delhi

On February 2, Air India announced the commencement of flights between Milan and Delhi which were discontinued due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This announcement came days after the airline announced flights connecting Delhi to Vienna and Copenhagen. With these announcements, it will be a lot easier to go on a Europe holiday if you are flying out from Delhi.

Goa Government Issues Strict Advisory For Tourists

The Goa Tourism Department has issued an advisory for all visitors planning to visit the state to protect their privacy and ensure their safety. The advisory urges visitors not to take pictures of other tourists without their permission, especially if they are sunbathing or swimming. Furthermore, visitors are requested not to hire illegal cabs, not to click selfies at dangerous locations and avoid damaging or destroying public property and heritage sites by scribbling graffiti, etc. Keep these pointers in mind while enjoying your Goa tour package, to avoid any trouble with the authorities.

Kaziranga National Park To Reopen

A key highlight of our Assam tour packages, the Kaziranga National Park is all set to reopen on February 4 after it was temporarily closed on January 18 due to climatic conditions. The announcement came from the Divisional Forest Officer, who further added that the Elephant Safari and the Jeep Safari in Agoratoli and Burapahar Ranges will also be available for the tourists on the day of the reopening.

Jaipur Airport Goes “Silent”

Since February 1, the Jaipur International Airport has gone “silent”, meaning no more constant announcements are going on. However, the passengers won’t face any problems as all the important information will be updated on the dozens of screens that have been strategically installed all over the airport. Along with these screens, passengers will also receive updates on their registered mobile numbers. The Public Announcement Systems will however still be used in case of emergencies.

Cheetah In India Updates

  1. Soon we will be able to see the Cheetahs in their natural habitat in the Kuno National Park after receiving the 8 Cheetahs from Namibia in September 2022. If reports are to go by, by the end of February, Cheetah Safaris will be started in the national park. However, there is no official date yet so hold on booking your Madhya Pradesh tour package for the time being.
  2. This February we will be seeing 12 more Cheetahs coming to India, but this time from South Africa. This will be the first time we will receive Cheetahs from South Africa. South Africa and India have signed an agreement under which for the next 8 – 10 years 12 Cheetahs will be sent to India annually from South Africa. 

Akasa Air Keeps Growing Its Network

Starting from February 18, Akasa Air will be operating daily non-stop flights from Varanasi to Bangalore and Varanasi to Goa (via Bangalore). This is the 14th destination the airline has added after starting operations 6 months ago. So far the airline connects Agartala, Chennai,  Guwahati, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Delhi, Visakhapatnam, Pune, Goa, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.

Vistara Now Flies To Dammam

Come March 1, Visatra will be operating daily non-stop flights from Mumbai to Dammam. On the same day, the airline will also resume operations on the Mumbai – Colombo route which was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
