With a coastline of over 7,000 km, India has many beautiful beaches. Some popular, some not well known, some hidden gems and truly underrated but all of them equally amazing. The Government tries to maintain these beaches with regular cleaning drives and by spreading awareness among people about the importance of keeping the beaches clean. This sincere effort from our Government has led to a handful of our beaches being recognized with a Blue Flag beach tag.

What is a Blue Flag Beach Tag?

A Blue Flag Beach Certification is awarded to beaches that meet strict environmental, educational, safety and accessibility standards. It is the world’s most well-known certification awarded by a Danish non-profit organization called Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

And till date, 12 beaches in India have earned the Blue Flag Beach Tag.

Let’s check them out!
