With only a couple of days left for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration or ‘Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha’ preparations for the consecration ceremony are in full swing nationwide. Thousands of VVIPs including saints, state heads, politicians and celebrities have been invited to this Ram Mandir opening on 22nd January 2024, Monday.

Preparations for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration

While the preparations for adorning the Ram Mandir are underway, efforts are being made to ensure a smooth experience at this religious event. The UP government has instructed officials to ensure that strong security and proper conduct are followed, especially for the VVIPs who will be attending the event. Special liaison officers will be appointed for this role. Other important arrangements made for the big day include:

  • Ensure that the event does not hamper the everyday life of local residents. 
  • Use of both central as well as state security agencies to control quality arrangements for stay and coordination of VVIPs. 
  • Patrolling has been increased in certain sensitive zones to counter external and internal threats. 
  • To cater to the manifold of devotees coming in post-ceremony, police coordination has been improved throughout the state, especially in Ayodhya for a seamless experience. 
  • Attention has been paid to providing amenities like designated parking facilities, food courts, restaurants, and banquet halls for devotees. 
  • To quickly address any potential health scare, protocols have been laid out to shift them immediately to the Sri Ram Hospital nearby. Emergency response teams, oxygen facilities, and specialist doctors are being mobilised to assist in handling any health-related challenges.
  • Lately, the officials have also stressed on the importance of cleanliness, safety, and service standards overall. 

While there is a total frenzy over the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration in Uttar Pradesh, other Indian states too are joining in on the celebrations. The central government has itself announced the closure of all government offices across the country for half a day.

However, here is a list of other state governments that have announced a holiday on 22nd January for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration. 

  • Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the closure of all educational institutions across the state on January 22. Liquor shops will also be closed.

  • Gujarat

All government offices in Gujarat will remain closed for half a day on January 22 to celebrate the consecration of the Ram temple.

  • Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday announced that all government offices will remain closed till 2:30 pm on Monday.

  • Madhya Pradesh

All schools will remain closed for the day on January 22, while government offices will be closed for half a day till 2:30 PM. Additionally, a dry day has also been announced in the state.

  • Haryana

All schools will remain closed in the state. A dry day has also been announced by the state government.

  • Odisha

All the government offices, as well as the revenue and magisterial courts in Odisha, will remain closed for half a day till 2:30 PM.

  • Assam

The Assam government has declared a half-day for the government offices and educational institutions till 2:30 PM.

  • Uttarakhand

All government offices in Uttarakhand will remain closed for half a day till 2:30 PM, while educational institutions will be shut for the day.

  • Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government on Friday announced a public holiday in the state on January 22.

  • Rajasthan

The Rajasthan government has declared a half-day holiday for government offices in the state.

  • Goa

All government offices and educational institutions will remain shut for the day in Goa.

  • Tripura

All government offices and educational institutions across Tripura will remain closed till 2:30 PM, an order issued by the state government said.

  • Haryana

The Haryana government declared a half-day holiday for government offices and educational institutions.

  • Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Union Territory administration has declared the closure of all its offices on January 22.

  • Puducherry

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy on Friday announced a public holiday in the union territory.

Also, the Finance Ministry has ordered all banks to remain closed for half a day on Monday.
