1. From August 1, 2023, Russia to start issuing Russia E-Visa for Indians

Russia is set to launch Electronic Visas (e-visas) for Indians from August 1, 2023. This move will allow Indian travellers to apply for Russia visa online for various purposes like business trips, guest visits, and tourism, streamlining the application process and reducing documentation and processing times. The visa will be valid for 60 days with a stay period of 16 days.

2. Soon travel around the World in 2 hours with NASA’s Suborbital Flights

NASA is developing Suborbital Flights that can navigate the Earth in 2 hours. Using the X-59 ‘Son of Concorde’, a supersonic spacecraft that has a top speed of around 1,500 km per hour, NASA aims to shorten travel time significantly. The journey from London to Sydney, which currently takes 22 hours, may be reduced to just 2 hours, as per research by Britain’s CAA.

3. World’s Least Visited Country – Tuvalu to disappear soon

The island nation of Tuvalu may disappear soon due climate change and the rising sea-levels. Located between Australia and Hawaii, Tuvalu is made up of tiny islands situated on top of a ring-shaped coral reef surrounding a lagoon and only has one airport. With just more than 2,000 visitors annually, it is considered the world’s least-visited country. 

4. To combat pollution and decrease the number of Tourists, Amsterdam to Ban Cruise Operations in the City Center

Amsterdam plans to ban cruise ships from the city center to reduce pollution and manage tourist numbers. The move aims to prioritize long-term sustainable tourism for the city. Though the implementation date is uncertain, discussions with the North Sea Canal area are underway. Currently, giant cruise ships dock at Cruise Port Amsterdam, causing pollution and hindering city growth.

5. Swimming in the Seine River, Paris to be allowed after 100 years

As a part of the preparations for the Summer Olympics 2024, the iconic city of Paris and its famous Seine River are undergoing a major clean-up drive. The Seine River which was earlier severely polluted due to industrial waste and unfit for human activities will be a part of 3 Olympic and Paralympic events – Triathlon, Marathon Swimming, and Para-triathlon after the clean-up is complete. This will be the first time in 100 years that swimmers and divers will be able to swim in the Seine River.

This first-ever Mattel Park spread over 9 acres will feature several sections based on iconic toys and games such as Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends, UNO, Pictionary, etc. along with a Master of the Universe’s iconic Castle Grayskull themed laser tag arena.

Indian Railways is set to introduce 25 upgrades to Vande Bharat Express trains, enhancing passenger amenities, safety, and technical aspects. The improvements include a new look, improved design, and more passenger-friendly facilities. The new rakes produced at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai will have these upgrades.

10. 373 Beaches in Andhra Pradesh to be developed for Tourism Purposes

Andhra Pradesh’s Tourism Department is formulating a master plan to develop 373 beaches across 12 districts along its 975-km coastline. Utilizing this natural advantage, officials aim to attract tourists from both within and outside the country. Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Nellore, and Tirupati are among the identified districts for beach development.
