1. Good news for Indians! Travel to Japan now easy, thanks to availability of eVisa facility for Indians

Inviting Indian travellers to explore the picturesque cherry blossoms and futuristic innovations, Japan has introduced a tourist electronic visa (e-Visa) for Indian citizens thus eliminating the need for physical visa stickers in passports. Tourists visiting Japan with all-inclusive Japan Tour Packages are able to apply for the Japan eVisa for Indians from 1st April 2024. The visa is valid for a single entry with a stay of up to 90 days.

5. Indra: Hop on India’s Longest Solar-Powered Cruise Boat in India’s Kochi City

The Kerala State Transport Department has started a new tourist boat on the Kochi Lake, Indra, India’s longest solar-powered cruise boat to add to your Kerala Tour Packages. The two-storied air-conditioned boat with a capacity of 100 passengers will operate two services daily at 11 AM and 4 PM covering popular tourist destinations like the Bolgatty Palace, Vallarpadam Container Terminal, Vypin, Kamalakadavu, Fort Kochi and Willingdon Island. 7. Good news for road-trippers! The road to Ladakh from Manali just got shorter but more scenic

Planning a road trip to Leh Ladakh from Manali? The journey just got shorter and more scenic with the opening of the Nimu-Padam-Darcha Road, tempting more tourists to look for affordable Ladakh Tour Packages. Built by the Border Roads Organisations (BRO), the new route is just 298 kms long and ensures all-weather access. Defence Ministry commented, “The Nimu-Padam-Darcha Road derives its strategic importance from the fact that it is not only shorter vis-a-vis the other two axes, but crosses only one pass; Shikun La (16,558 feet) on which tunnel work is about to commence by the BRO.”

8. SpiceJet to Facilitate non-stop Flights between Hyderabad and Ayodhya

Grab best deals on flight bookings as SpiceJet is facilitating intercity travel between several prominent Indian cities, for eg. non-stop flights between Hyderabad and Ayodhya to operate thrice a week. Even flights to Pakyong, Sikkim from Delhi and Kolkata will see increased frequency. 

Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet, commented on the same saying, “We are happy to enhance connectivity to Ayodhya and Pakyong ahead of the forthcoming peak travel season. With an expanding fleet, we are poised to launch new routes and reinstate services on key ones. SpiceJet remains steadfast in providing seamless travel experiences to our passengers by enhancing domestic operations and fostering regional connectivity across India.”

9. Take advantage of Virgin Atlantic’s new Daily Service between London Heathrow and Bengaluru’s Kempegowda

Virgin Atlantic is looking to add India services in its latest key strategic expansions. Launching the third route between the UK and India, Virgin Atlantic will be adding daily service between London Heathrow and burgeoning Indian tech hub Bengaluru. They have also announced additional flights on the London-Mumbai and London-Delhi routes. 

10. Flying with Pets just got easier and cheaper with American Airlines’ latest Pet’s Policy

Making changes to the previous updates regarding flying with pets, the revised Pet’s Policy of American Airlines suggests ‘now passengers could bring their pet in the cabin along with their regular carry-on bag or any other personal item (but not both bags)’.  However, there is a maximum limit to the number of pets allowed in the cabin, so plan and research beforehand. 

11. Fly High! Uttarakhand Tourism launches Helicopter Services for Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra

Operating under the Uttarakhand government’s Heli Darshan scheme, a helicopter service to the Adi Kailash and the Om Parvat peaks from the Naini Saini Airport in Uttarakhand has been launched in a move to boost religious tourism. The Mi-19 will take pilgrims for a scenic ride over the Vyas Valley to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. Following the trial run, the one-day aerial darshan will commence from 15th April, five days a week. 

12. Solar Eclipse 2024, occurring on 8th April, regrettably won’t be visible from India 

The first Solar Eclipse 2024 which will occur on 8th April, Monday will unfortunately won’t be visible in India. According to NASA, the Total Solar Eclipse will be first seen in Mexico and then traverse through the continents of North America (only in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine) and lastly to parts of Canada. 

13. Beach Iftar: A new way of breaking Ramzan Fast on the beaches of Kerala’s Malabar region

Residents of Kerala’s Malabar region have found a new way to break their Ramzan fast along the beaches with food and mats to spread on the sand. Families and friends have been coming to these beaches for a long time. “However, more people are coming to the beaches for iftar these days. I think it also has to do with certain reels of beach iftars becoming popular. Watching those, others also feel like experiencing the same,” says Niya Meher, a local student. Beaches in Kozhikode, Malappuram and Kannur see these groups praying and breaking their fasts with home-cooked foods usually.
