Largest Safari Park outside of Africa opens in Sharjah

Inaugurated by Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, at Al Bridi Nature Reserve, this is the largest safari park outside Africa. Expanding over an area of 8 sq km and planted with 100,000 native African Acacia trees, this safari lets the visitors experience 12 different natural environments and observe more than 50,000 animals of 120 species including several rare animals. With various experiences named after key places in Africa, like Zanzibar village, Serengeti experience, Savannah experience, etc. you can experience their particular village life and culture along with the vast varieties of animals.

J&K’s Gulmarg becomes home to World’s Largest Igloo Cafe

Standing tall at a record breaking height of 37.5 ft and diameter of 42.4 ft, “Snowglu” in Gulmarg is the current largest Igloo Cafe in the world. Created by Syed Wasim Shah, over a span of 64 days with a team working day & night, this cafe was created after he was inspired by similar Igloo Cafes in Switzerland and other European countries. The Igloo Cafe can seat 40 people at the same time and is made of two levels including a staircase! But you can only experience it till March 15, after which the cafe will be closed to visitors. So if you are planning to visit Kashmir or are in Kashmir until then, why not take a seat at chilled chairs and tables made of snow and sip on some steaming hot kashmiri kahwa?   

Shanghai inaugurates World’s Highest Restaurant in a Building

Breaking the previously held record of At.mosphere in Burj Khalifa at 441.30m by over 100m, “Heavenly Jin” by the J Hotel Shanghai Tower has set the bar too high at 556.36m. Situated at the top floors of the worlds 3rd tallest tower, this fine dining restaurant welcomes its guests with a 30 metre long mural depicting the Silk Road on Italian tile mosaic. Air India to start searching for new CEO all over again

Ilker Ayci the former chairperson of Turkish Airlines, declined the AI offer due to some conflicting reasons. Air India had announced Ilker Ayci as the CEO and MD of Air India on February 14 and he was scheduled to join Air India from April 1.

France adds India to green-list

India was amongst the list of 30 countries added to the green list announced by the French authorities on Thursday. Indian travellers who are fully vaccinated and have a valid France visa, can now enter France without any restrictions, but non vaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers do require a negative covid test before their departure.

US waives off in person interview

US has decided to waive off in person interview for US Visa applicants until 31st December 2022. As per the announcement the waiver is eligible for students (F,M and J visas), workers (H1, H2, H3 and L visas) and extraordinary ability (O,P and Q visas) visa applicants. However, if you were never issued any category of US visa, were rejected for a US visa or indicate any sort of ineligibility for the visa, you are not eligible for the interview waiver programme.

Bali announces no more quarantine and visa-on-arrival for travellers

After opening its doors for tourists in February with 3 day mandatory quarantine, Indonesian government has now decided to remove the restrictions and allow tourists to enter Bali. The government is allowing tourists to apply for visa on arrival provided that travellers are fully vaccinated and must test negative on the RT PCR test conducted at immigration. Tourists are also requested to conduct a RT PCR on the third day of their visit.

India extends its travel restrictions

Despite being closed to the world since March 2020, and having low numbers of daily Covid 19 cases, India has no plans to open its door fully any time soon. The Director General of Civil Aviation announced on Wednesday, “competent authority has decided to extend the suspension of scheduled international flights till further orders”. Citizens relying on tourism for their bread and butter were disappointed as they were hoping to welcome foreign tourists after two years of restrictions.

Non-EU Travellers welcomed in Italy

Travellers from Non EU countries can easily enter Italy after the official announcement of ease in travel ban on March 1. As per the announcement, vaccinated travellers will no longer need a negative RT PCR test, whereas non vaccinated travellers who show negative RT PCR test taken before arriving are not required to stay in quarantine.  

Australia opens fully to travel

Western Australia becomes the last state to open its borders for the world, making Australia fully open for vaccinated travellers to explore. Lifting travel restrictions four months after Sydney, Western Australia had closed its doors in 2020 for travellers to control the spread of Covid 19. covering one-third land area of the nation, it is home to various tourist destinations.
