World’s Most Powerful Passports Revealed

Henley Passport Index 2023, revealing the world’s strongest passport is out for the first quarter of the year. The passport index uses data from the International Air Transport  Authority (IATA) and includes a comparison of 199 passports across 227 destinations globally. As per the index, Japan secured the 1st spot for the 5th year in a row with access to 193 countries, while Afghanistan remained the weakest with access to just 27. The Indian passport secured the 85th spot with access to 59 destinations.

Thailand Issues New Covid-19 Travel Guidelines

From January 9, all fully vaccinated passengers arriving in Thailand will be required to provide their vaccination certificates, as per the recent statement issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT). A medical certificate must be provided by passengers who aren’t fully vaccinated stating the reason. These guidelines do not apply if you are transiting through Thailand. While planning your Thailand trip, ensure to add keeping a copy of your vaccination certificate handy in your checklist along with applying for your Thailand visa and booking a Thailand tour package.

COVID-19 Entry Requirements For The USA Extended Till April

After the US visa interview appointment time exceeding 1000 days made news recently, the country issued new regulations for the COVID-19 entry requirements. The country was planning to end the travel restrictions on January 8, but now they will stay in place till April 10. As per the guidelines, all international travelers, who are not a citizen of the USA are required to be fully vaccinated and carry proof of same. Airlines have been issued an advisory stating not to allow unvaccinated, non-US travelers aboard their flights to the USA

Kerala Secures A Spot In The New York Times (NYT) List Of 52 Destinations To Visit In 2023

The New York Times released its annual List of 52 Places to Go in 2023 and God’s own country, Kerala secured the 13th spot in the list! Kerala is the only Indian state to have made it to the list. The list described Kerala as a place with beautiful beaches, scenic backwater lagoons, rich culture, and delicious cuisine. Kerala’s efforts for responsible tourism at Kumarakom and Maravanthuruthu were also applauded.

Indian nationals, Dr. Ali Irani and Sujoy Kumar Mitra, recently created a Guinness World Record by visiting all 7 continents in 3 days, 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 4 seconds! The previous record was held by a UAE national who completed the feat in 3 days, 14 hours, 46 minutes, and 48 seconds.

Thailand To Impose Tourist Fee From June

In order to raise money to develop tourist spots and help support tourists involved in accidents, Thailand plans to collect tourist fees. Starting in June, THB 300 will be collected from all visitors except visitors holding a Thailand work permit and border passes. So far, the proposal to collect Tourist Fees is awaiting cabinet approval.

Reverse Vending Machines At Mumbai International Airport

Keeping their zero waste target in mind, the authorities at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport have installed Reverse Vending Machines. These machines will encourage passengers to recycle their single-use plastic bottles by recycling them. So far these machines have been installed at the Terminal 2 of the airport and will be available at Terminal 1 soon. The CSMIA has been a single-use plastic free airport since 2019 to achieve its “Net Zero” carbon emission goal.

Air India To Soon Fly To London Gatwick

As per the reports, India’s national air carrier, Air India will connect to the UK’s second-largest airport – Gatwick Airport (London) from March 26. Initially, 12 weekly flights operating thrice a week will be launched and will connect London to Indian cities like Amritsar, Goa, Kochi, and Ahmedabad. Apart from these, the airline will also increase its frequency to London Heathrow Airport from Delhi and Mumbai. 

Coming Soon: Double Decker Cruise In Ajmer
