However, there are certain things you need to keep in mind before planning a vacation to Singapore.

Visa:
There are certain types of Singapore Visa and you can apply for one depending upon your duration and purpose of visiting the country. Almost 80% of the world’s countries don’t need a Singapore Visa for a 3- or 90 days visit.

Getting to Singapore:
Flights are the easiest way to get to the island city. To get good deals on flights to Singapore, you can book in advance. Singapore’s international airport is the Changi Airport (a wonder park in itself).

Weather:
Singapore is a tropical country so it sees sunshine throughout the year with average temperatures ranging between 25-30 degrees Celsius and occasional gusts of rain. You cannot escape these two weather conditions in the country throughout the year. Avoid November to January as it is the peak rainy season. The average temperature hardly ever falls below 20 degrees Celsius, throughout the year.

Singapore Currency:
The official currency is the Singapore dollar ($S). With currency starting from 5 cents up to $1000.

Public Transport in Singapore:
Despite Singapore being an expensive tourist destination, opting for public transport in Singapore is going to save you a lot. You can buy a Singapore Tourist Pass for unlimited MRT rides or a refillable EZ Link Card. Even buses and taxis are well-maintained and fair-priced.
Even though it is small in size, the island is packed with tourist attractions and things to do. However, a 4-day itinerary is quite ideal to pack up all the fun that the country offers. Day 1: Gardens by the Bay, ArtScience Museum, Singapore Flyer, Singapore City Gallery,
Marina Bay Sands,  Merlion and the Singapore skyline by night.
Day 2: Chinatown, Little India, Clarke Quay.
Day 3: Spend the entire day on Sentosa Islands.
Day 4: Mount Faber Park & southern Ridges Walk OR shopping and eating around, Night Safari.

Day 1:

Gardens by the Bay:

An unmissable on your Singapore itinerary, if you want to experience the eccentric green oasis in between a concrete jungle, start your day early with a trip to Gardens by the Bay. The right mix of nature and scientific engineering this incredible man-made nature park is a future experience. You can choose between the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome and Supertree Grove. Do not miss getting on the OCBC Skyway (S$8) to view over the entire gardens from atop.

ArtScience Museum:

Definitely take your kids to the ArtScience Museum. Displaying a mix of Art and Science, even the building is an architectural marvel with scientific splendour. There are various galleries here with several temporary exhibitions.

Singapore Flyer:

Walk a bit along the esplanade to come to the Singapore Flyer. Take a look at the gorgeous Singapore skyline from a height of 165m in an air-conditioned capsule. The observation wheel gives one rotation in 30 minutes. From there, you can head over for lunch in any of the neighbouring restaurants.

Escape the afternoon heat and head over to the Singapore City Gallery to get mesmerised by the smart planning of this tiny country on an 11-m scale model.

As the sun sets, watch the most iconic landmark of Singapore come to life. You can click several pictures here with this popular background. Then you can fit in both the Gardens by the Bay lights and water show (7:45 pm & 8:45 pm) and the Marina Bay Spectra show (8 pm & 9 pm) in the last slot for the day. Enjoy the Singapore night skyline as you return to the hotel.

Day 2:

Chinatown:

Day 2 will involve a lot of walking and a lot more of shopping. In the quaint little streets of Chinatown, you’ll find colourful houses, historic buildings, little boutique shops to buy all kinds of souvenirs and clothes and some really tasty street food. Walk through the neighbourhood to get a real experience. Do visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple here.

Little India:

A 5-min MRT ride from Chinatown is going to bring you to another magnificent place called ‘Little India’. A colourful neighbourhood where you’ll find colourful houses, exquisite temples and many restaurants serving the best food. Roam around Little India until sunset. Both Chinatown and Little India give an insight into the cultures’ influence in Singapore and hence are unmissable on the Singapore itinerary.

Clarke Quay:

Another short MRT ride will drop you off near Clarke Quay. A street full of bustling bars, restaurants and nightclubs, a perfect place for the party animals overlooking the river. Stroll across the promenade in the evening and then indulge yourself in the night experience. The top restaurants are Holey Moley, Hai Di Lao and Zouk.

Day 3:

Sentosa Islands:

It is very easy to dedicate an entire day from your 4-day Singapore itinerary to spend on this purpose-built island resort off the southern coast of Singapore. To reach Sentosa take an MRT to the HarbourFront  MRT Station, enter the Vivocity Mall and go to Level 3, from there take the Sentosa Express to Sentosa Island. Once you reach the island, you will be spoilt for choices from the activities the island offers. There are beaches, adventure parks, golf courses, shopping malls and several exquisite dining options.

If you are looking forward to having a relaxing time here, swing a few balls at the premium golf club or just lay around the beaches. There is the Palawan Beach, Siloso Beach and Tanjong Beach here. The island also has several spas, pools and the 24-hour casino at Resorts World which is great, especially for the honeymooning couples.

Universal Studio

If you are up for an adventure then you can easily spend a thrill-filled day at the world-famous Universal Studios Singapore or have loads of water-filled fun at the Cove Waterpark. Other activities include the S.E.A Aquarium, Flying Trapeze, Skyline Luge, Sentosa 4D Adventureland, etc. Some of the offbeat activities here are visiting the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, exploring Tanjung Rimau or a stroll on the 11-story high Fort Siloso Skywalk.
Get around the island via the beach tram, bus or monorail. At the end of the day, you can take the Sentosa Express back into the city and retire back to your hotel.

Day 4:

Mount Faber Park & Southern Ridges Walk:

If you are a fan of hiking, the Southern Ridges Walk is highly recommended. Leading through the tropical forest of parks like Mount Faber, you will come along sites like Alexander Arch, Henderson Waves and Canopy Walkway.
If you do not wish to walk, simply have a late start to the day by sleeping in extra and then head out for some shopping and delicious restaurant food.

Night Safari:

The Singapore Zoo in Downtown Singapore is not only famous for its variety of animals including Malay tigers, Asian elephants, flying squirrels, lions, giraffes, etc. Opt for their Night Safari which is going to take you through the huge rainforest park to see some of their nocturnal animals in their natural habitats. Apart from the exotic wildlife and Night Safari, you can also enjoy the cultural shows and tribal dance performances that the zoo offers.
