The Oktoberfest dates back to October of 1810 when every resident of Munich was invited to the royal wedding of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. The festivities were marked with ample of food, horse racing, and of course beer-chugging. People were so amused with the festivities that it was repeated in 1811 and has become an annual affair ever since. Except for horse racing, today Oktoberfest is marked with a parade, remarkable food, and ample of beer to make everyone attending lose themselves to unmatched merriment!
