Goa is a popular tourist destination in India and for those who don’t want to spend on flights, the new Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express is the best option. The first Vande Bharat train was introduced by the Indian Railways in 2019 connecting Delhi and Varanasi. The latest Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat train is going to be India’s 19th, 5th in Maharashtra and the 4th one from Mumbai.
Passengers travelling from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Mumbai) to Goa can now count on a luxurious and swift commute with the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express that will cover the Mumbai to Goa travel time in just 7 hours and 50 minutes. Earlier the fastest train on the route was Tejas Express, which takes about 8 hours and 50 minutes to cover the distance from Mumbai to Goa.
The inaugural run for the new Mumbai- Goa bound express train was set to happen on 3rd June, flagged by the Prime Minister of India. However, flagging of the Madgaon-CSMT Vande Bharat Express train, has been cancelled, owing to the collision between Coromandel Express and a freight train in Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday. There is no update whether the train will start operations without a grand flagging off ceremony. As of now, it has been put on hold.
Vande Bharat Express Mumbai-Goa Station List:
The Mumbai to Goa Vande Bharat route will have 10 stations in total. The train will start from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), stopping at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Thivim and Madgaon will be the last stop.
Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express Schedule & Timings:
Except on Fridays, the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express will run for the rest 6 days of the week. For the up ride, it will depart from CSMT at 5:25 AM and reach Madgoan at 1:15 PM. For the down ride, the train will leave Madgaon at 2:35 PM and reach CSMT station at 10:25 PM.
Vande Bharat Express Mumbai To Goa Ticket Price:
The Vande Bharat Express Mumbai to Goa fare depends on your boarding and departing station. The price range can be between Rs 1,100 and Rs 1,600 for an AC Chair Car. For the Executive Class category, it is between Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,800.
Indian Railways is still considering whether it will be an 8 or 16 coach and the final decision on the composition of the rake will be communicated. Since Mumbai sees a lot of outgoing and incoming passenger frequencies, this would help to dilute the burden a little. The other three Vande Bharat Express trains from Mumbai are- Mumbai to Shirdi, Mumbai to Solapur and Mumbai to Gandhinagar.
