This incredible man-made nature park feels like straight-up walking into the near future. With its unreal sights, incredible art and lush greenery, these grounds are a must explore. Gardens by the Bay is located by the Marina Bay Waterfront, one of Singapore’s most popular tourist spots. An area of 101 hectares is covered with this rich flora and fauna in the most artistic manner. This green spot is an absolute pleasure for sore eyes in the middle of all the concrete madness. In between the giant trees made of metal, there are thousands of species of flowers, lakes and green spaces to relax on.

The large area is divided into three separate spaces- Bay East Garden, Bay Central Garden and Bay South Garden. Each of the sections has a distinct display to offer for the visitors. The area is a fully sheathed greenhouse home with various ecosystems flourishing in it. The main attractions here are the Cloud forest, Flower Dome, Supertree Grove and the OCBC Skyway.

Let’s get to know a little more in detail about Gardens by the Bay, so it would be easier for you to enjoy this unmissable tourist attraction.

The Gardens by the Bay area is free to access. However, there are entry fees for accessing the cooled conservatories and the OCBC Skyway. On-site purchase of tickets to access both the conservatories is S$28 for adults and S$15 for children. Accessing the OCBC Skywalk is an additional S$8. The ticket prices are lower for locals of Singapore though.

However, if you purchase the tickets online in advance it will not only help you save a few dollars but also save some time by skipping the lines. On online apps like Get Your Guide, you can purchase a combined ticket for both conservatories for just S$20. Online booking would especially help during peak season because on-site tickets might get sold out.

4. Best Time to Visit:

Gardens by the Bay is good to be visited at any time of the year. Also, since the conservatories are air-conditioned and covered, outside weather won’t make a difference. If it rains, only the OCBC skyway would not be a fun experience.

About the timings, it would be recommended to visit Gardens by the Bay in the late afternoon. Since you would need around 2 to 3 hours to complete the entire tour, it would finish just in time for you to come and grab a good spot for the lights and music show at 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm.

Looking like a giant greenhouse, this architecturally cool conservatory is a landscape filled with rare vegetation and perplexing views. Theis conservatory houses the world’s second-largest indoor waterfall, the first one being in Changi Airport of Singapore itself. As you walk along the spiral paths on the way you will spot vertical rainforests, huge installations of orchids, some of the rarest and unusual ones and several photo-worthy backdrops. Climb up to the walkways and enjoy the view of the entire Cloud forest from 35 metres up. All around there are several installations that educate you about topics like climate change.

Flower Dome:

Not as cool as the Cloud Forest, but still, the Flower Dome has its own share of amazing waterfalls, skywalks and a literal rainforest. Throughout the area, you can see hundreds of flower species, from almost five continents, and tropical palms. If you love flowers or don’t want to miss out on some of the most spectacular backdrops made up of flowers for your Instagram photos, do visit the Flower Dome. Nonetheless, if you are short of time or don’t want to spend money, you can totally skip this conservatory.

The Supertrees are basically these towering metallic structures of 25-50m in height. There are more than 1,50,000 plants implanted in the trunks of these Supertrees. Then there are these massive skywalks that connect the Supertrees. The view from the top skywalk is mesmerising, especially during dawn. It gives a view of the entire Supertree Grove, the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and also the Singapore Flyer in the distance.

After exploring all this, head to the base of the Supertree Grove and grab a good spot on the grass patch. At 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm, you can witness a well-curated light and music show called the ‘Garden Rhapsody’. You are going to get lost in the astonishing lights and compelling music. The view of the sunset at Bay East Garden, the gorgeous waterfront and a panoramic view of the Singapore skyline is only going to add to the experience.
