If you are one of the lucky fans who have been able to get tickets to the matches for the World Cup 2022 we might have a great plan for you. Combine your World Cup 2022 trip to Qatar with a holiday in Dubai. The FIFA World Cup 2022 kicks off in late November and that would be an ideal time to enjoy the festive environment in Dubai. Firstly, you will need to get your hands on the Hayya Card- it is a preapproved entry permit into Qatar and one card can be accessed on one official match ticket. The Hayya Card is mandatory and helps you to get entry into the stadium, gives access to free bus services and the Doha Metro. Match goers can apply for this card online via the official website or app.

Look at these different ways you can enter Qatar from Dubai, UAE:

Dubai To Doha By Air:

For those planning to attend the games while staying in Dubai, flights are the fastest and most convenient option to reach Doha. Several global and local airlines have announced increased flight frequencies and flight schedules between the two countries. It is advised for travellers to start taking care of their flights to Dubai and Dubai visa beforehand. You will also need a Qatar visa to be able to enter Doha from Dubai for the match. You can save a great deal on flights from Dubai to Doha by booking them in advance.

Flydubai will also be providing shuttle flight services for bringing fans to and from Doha on the match day itself. These flights will be departing from the Dubai World Central Airport (DWC) and there will be more than 30 flights per day. This will help visitors return back to Dubai on the same day without having to spend on accommodations in Doha. Work Cup 2022 ticket holders will arrive in Doha approximately 4-6 hours before kick-off and departure will be within 4 hours after departure. These shuttle flights will cost you between US$258 to US$998 with an average travel time of 70-90 minutes.

If you plan on attending more than one game in the World Cup 2022, you can book a regular flight ticket from Dubai and a return ticket according to your match dates. If you are a group, opting to book a charter plane can be cost-effective, convenient and safe.

Dubai To Doha By Road:

Yes, it is possible to travel to Doha from Dubai by road. This can be an enjoyable road trip with your friends or family and you can also look forward to saving some money. The journey by car is a distance of approximately 600 kms and will take you about 6-7 hours. You need to have proper vehicle insurance and both a Saudi Arabia visa and Qatar visa as you will need to cross Saudi Arabia to reach Doha from the UAE. You will drive up to Saudi Arabia’s border on Qatar’s side, park your vehicle on the Saudi side of the Abu Samra land border and from there you can take a free shuttle service to Doha. The bus will also drop you back at the border after the game. Once again it is important to carry the Hayya card with you to be able to enter Doha.

Dubai To Doha By Water:

As the UAE and Qatar share maritime boundaries, it is also possible to reach Qatar via charter ships that are scheduled by the Qatar National Tourism Council. These ships will let you down at the Hamad Port and from there you can avail the shuttle bus services to reach the stadium or your accommodation.

Covid-19 Restrictions:

All visitors, not only from Dubai to Doha but from anywhere else in the world must provide a negative within 48 hours of the scheduled departure time or a rapid antigen test within 24 hours. Wearing a mask is also mandatory at all times.
