India’s first ever 3D printed post office, Bangalore’s Cambridge Layout Post Office was virtually inaugurated on August 18, 2023, by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The Union Minister said, “The new picture that you saw today in terms of this 3D-printed post office building, that’s the spirit of India today. That’s the spirit with which our country is progressing today.”

3. Indonesia to soon launch Indonesia Golden Visa

In a bid to attract more foreign businesses and entrepreneurs, Indonesia plans to launch its Golden visa policy soon. The Indonesia Golden visa will be valid for 5 to 10 years and allow the visa holders to own property in Indonesia and eventually gain Indonesian citizenship. Since Indonesia provides Indonesia visa on arrival to Indians, how about a holiday in Indonesia until more details about the Indonesia Golden visa are revealed?  

4. France announces 5 year Schengen visa for Indian Students

As per the recent announcement, Indian students who have spent a semester in France will now be eligible for a 5 year short stay Schengen visa. According to the announcement, in order to be eligible for the 5-year Schengen visa, students must have studied in France for at least one semester and have reached a Master’s Degree level or above from a recognised university in India, France or any other country along with fulfilling the other Schengen visa requirements.

After 10 years of closure, ‘Path of Love’ Italy’s famous hiking route is now reopened. A must to include in your holiday in Italy, Italy’s Via dell’Amore, is known as “the world’s most romantic walk,” and is a cherished trail among the 75 miles of Cinque Terre UNESCO World Heritage trails. Following a landslide in 2012, it was closed to public and now its initial segment has reopened for summer, with the full trail scheduled to reopen in July 2024.

7. Caravan Tourism coming soon to Andaman

The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism, A&N Administration, has initiated a Caravan Tourism Policy to promote eco-friendly tourism in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Focusing on growth and ecological preservation, the Caravan Tourism policy will allow travellers to explore pristine beaches and natural islands ecologically, encouraging sustainable tourism in the region.

8. 9 Heritage Sites in Uttar Pradesh  to be converted into 5-Star Hotels

As per the reports, 9 palaces and forts in Uttar Pradesh will be turned into 5-Star Hotels. This decision was taken to boost rural tourism and the economy along with providing employment opportunities to the youth of the region. Heritage properties like Chattar Manzil, Barua Sagar Fort, Barsana Water Palace, etc. have been shortlisted for the project.

9. Great Nicobar Island’s Campbell Bay now accessible to Tourists

Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai recently announced Campbell Bay, on Great Nicobar Island, is now open to tourists. Home to Indira Point, India’s southernmost tip, and captivating marine life, it was restricted for tourists as it has restricted areas safeguarding indigenous tribes and delicate ecosystems. As a part of Andaman’s sustainable tourism policy, tourists can explore this hidden gem, full of breathtaking landscapes, diverse flora, and fauna with special permits.

10. Shaheedi Park – India’s First-ever Outdoor Museum inaugurated in Delhi

Dedicated to the national heroes of India, the Shaheedi Park was inaugurated in Delhi by CM Arvind Kejriwal recently. Spread over 4.5 acres, this park features artifacts depicting modern, ancient, and medieval Indian history. The park was built by utilising over 250 tons of scrap under the Waste to Art theme and includes a food kiosk, 3 galleries, and over 100 2D and 3D statues.

11. Indian Railways announces special Train from Panvel to Nagercoil for Onam

A special Panvel to Nagercoil train for Onam has been announced by the Indian Railways. This train will operate on August 22, 29 and September 5, 2023, and will take passengers from Panvel to Nagercoil via Mangaluru, Ernakulam, Kottayam, and Thiruvananthapuram while travelling on the Konkan route.
