Goa Tourism Launches New Mission – Safe & Clean Beaches
Goa Tourism along with Goa Police have come with their “Safe & Clean Beaches” mission in order clean and to track down illegal activities that take place on the Goan beaches. Under this mission the tourism department will focus on having clean beaches, installing CCTV cameras and ensuring overall safety of the visitors.
Palace On Wheels To Resume Service
One of the top luxury trains in India, Palace on Wheels will resume its service after suspending them for 2 years due to global pandemic. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) have signed a new agreement with the Indian Railways to reinstate the Palace on Wheels and are also considering to reduce the fare to encourage more people to travel in it.
Israel Relaxes COVID 19 Restrictions
From May 20 any visitor arriving in Israel won’t have to undergo the mandatory PCR test upon their arrival. However, performing an antigen test 24 hours before their arrival in Israel is still required.
European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Removes In Flight Mask Mandate
As per EASA’s Aviation Health Safety Protocol issued on May 11, using masks in flights or any other form of public transport won’t be mandatory from May 16. This decision was made considering the low numbers of COVID cases and high numbers of vaccinated travelers. However, many airlines and countries are not on board with this decision so research thoroughly before travelling.
New Zealand Opening For Tourists In August
New Zealand will reopen its air and water borders and allow tourists from all over the world to enter the country by flights or cruise ships by the end of July. The government is also planning to end the pre-departure test required by the travelers. As per the government’s announcement fully vaccinated travelers from India can travel to New Zealand from August 1.
France Goes Mask Free
Considering the improving situations in the country, the French government declared wearing a mask won’t be mandatory while travelling in a bus, train or subway. The mask mandate will be lifted from May 16, however the elderly and sick are still required to cover their faces in large gatherings.
Campbell Wilson Appointed As MD And CEO Of Air India
On May 12, Tata Sons announced the appointed of Campbell Wilson as the new MD and CEO of Air India. Campbell has worked with the Singapore Airlines for over 15 years in countries like Japan, Canada and Hong Kong. In 2011 he was appointed to lead Scoot (a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines) as CEO, then in 2016 he was selected as the Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) for Singapore Airlines and later in 2020 he went back to Scoot as CEO.
N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Air India said, “I am delighted to welcome Campbell to Air India. He is an industry veteran having worked in key global markets cutting across multiple functions. Further, Air India would benefit from his added experience of having built an airline brand in Asia. I look forward to working with him in building a world-class airline.”
No More Strict COVID Restrictions In Laos
To promote tourism and to help the country’s economy, the government has decided to loosen up travel restrictions set in place due to the pandemic. There will be no entry or travel restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers however non vaccinated travelers, a rapid antigen test conducted 2 days before entering Laos is still mandatory.
Italy Relaxes Travel Restrictions
After 2 years of closure and travel bans Italy is getting ready for this year’s tourist season by relaxing some travel restrictions. Although the mask mandate is still in place, travelers will no longer be required to fill the complicated EU passenger locator form. Also the COVID 19 Green Health pass will no longer be needed to enter restaurants, movie halls, and other public places.
