Taj Mahal to allow free entry to tourists.
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has decided to allow free entry to the Taj Mahal beginning February 27, 28 and March 1, to mark the 367th Urs of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan who commissioned the construction of the monument in the fond memory of his wife. With reference to the timings for the free entry, on February 27 and February 28 tourists will be allowed to enter free of cost from 2pm till sunset, whereas on March 1, all tourists will be permitted inside the premises free of cost from sunrise till sunset.
After a gap of 2 years, regular international flights to resume.
A big relief for travellers! Considering the consistent decline in Covid cases, the aviation ministry has sought the health ministry’s approval to resume regular international flights from mid week of March, after remaining suspended for almost 2 years. No official announcement has been made by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation so far. The ban on scheduled international passenger flights in India is in effect till February 28. Special passenger flights have been functioning between India and around 40 countries since July 2020 under air bubble arrangements. Regular flights have been suspended in India since March 23, 2020, due to the pandemic.

Maharashtra’s first ever Scuba Dive Boat launched in Tarkali.
On February 21, 2022, Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray launched the new Armour Dive Boat at Tarkarli MTDC, Sindhurdurg, making it the State’s first ever Scuba Dive Boat. During the launch, Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray said, “I was truly amazed to see how the Scuba Diving Center in Tarkarli, Sindhudurg, is geared to provide an adrenaline rush for the tourists and job opportunities for the locals.”
‘Leisure on Wheels’ – First Caravan Park opens in Kerala.

The Kerala Tourism launched its first Caravan Park at the scenic tourism spot in Vagamon, a scenic hill station located in Idukki district on 25th February, 2022. The Park, first of its kind in Kerala, features all the necessary amenities such as sofa-cum-bed, TV, kitchenette with fridge and microwave oven, induction heater, cupboards, generator, dining table, toilet cubicle, a bathroom with geyser, berth, partition behind the driver, internet connectivity, audio-video facilities, charging system, GPS, housekeeping, round-the-clock individual service and campfire, among others. The Park is the first major tourism initiative in the State since the launch of houseboats in the 1980s. “It is a historic moment for the state and its tourism department. The initiative will also bring to light several potential destinations that have so far remained unknown,” Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas said during its inauguration.
‘World’s most beautiful building’ Museum of the Future opens in Dubai.
Touted as the ‘most beautiful building on Earth’, the Museum of the Future was inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on 22nd February. This impressive wonder is situated just a stone’s throw away from the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa; another iconic architectural marvel of Dubai.
Morocco resumes tourist visa operations for Indians.
The Embassy of the Royal Kingdom of Morocco has started accepting applications for tourist visas, business visas and other categories.
Bulgaria to ease travel restrictions from 20th March.
Around 20th March, Bulgaria will most likely end all restrictions in the country linked to the Green Certificate. “Bulgaria plans to lift the obligatory Covid-19 “green certificate” for entry to restaurants, shopping malls and other public venues from March 20 as coronavirus infections ease, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov was quoted saying.
Delhi Airport’s New ‘Green’ Arrival Terminal T1 starts operations from 24th February, 2022.
Delhi Airport’s swanky new arrival terminal at T1 is now operational. The new arrival at T1 terminal is covered in an area of approx. 8,000 sq.m and has been built as a green building as part of the global Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building standards, with a daylight concept incorporated in the overall structure. The state of the art facility received its first flight – IndiGo’s 6E-6532 from Goa at 3.40 am on 24th February.
