Air Suvidha Forms Might Be Reintroduced For International Travellers

There is a possibility that the mandatory Air Suvidha form will be reintroduced by the Union Health Ministry. The form will include details of RT-PCR tests conducted 72 hours before travel or complete vaccination proof for those traveling to India from countries where COVID has been reported to be high. The decision to reintroduce the Air Suvidha forms will be finalized after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the country in the upcoming weeks.

Random Testing Of International Travelers Begins At Indian Airports

With the number of COVID-19 cases increasing worldwide, the Indian Government started randomly testing international travelers at the airports for COVID-19 from December 21. A report by ANI, stated, “Random sample testing will be done for international air passengers arriving from various countries including China.” In an advisory issued to international passengers on December 23, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport informed them that 2% of all international passengers arriving at the airport should undergo random Covid-19 testing after arrival as a result of the latest Ministry of Health guidelines.

Biometric Boarding Pass At Abu Dhabi Airport

With the recent biometric boarding pass system installed at the Abu Dhabi Airport that uses facial recognition technology, passengers will no longer be required to show their passport or ticket to board their flight. However, passengers will need to have their biometric data and passport details registered in the airport’s system in order to avail this service. Recently the UAE 5- year tourist visa for Indians was announced by the Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Indians Will Now Need A Visa To Visit Serbia

In accordance with the new EU visa policies and to reduce the number of illegal immigrants, Serbia has decided to withdraw the visa free policy for Indians and citizens of Guinea-Bissau. Starting from January 1, 2023, Indians wishing to visit Serbia will be required to have a Serbia visa to enter the country. However, Indian nationals holding a valid UK visa, US visa, Schengen visa or a residence permit to any of these nations will not be affected by this rule.

Changes In Hong Kong’s COVID-19 Travel Guidelines

In the wake of the COVID pandemic, the e-visa facility was discontinued and has now been restored from December 20. As per the recent update, there has been a restoration of all valid e-Visas issued before their suspension in March 2020.

Indian Airports To Soon Get Computed Tomography Scanners

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) plans to install Computed Tomography Scanners at the airports. According to a report, Jaideep Prasad told PTI that, “With such scanners, passengers will not be required to take out their electronic devices from hand baggage before going through the scanner.”
