2 New Mumbai Metro Lines Inaugurated By PM Modi

On January 19, PM Modi inaugurated lines 2A and 7 of the Mumbai Metro operating between Dahisar and Andheri. Metro line 2A will operate on the Yellow Line connecting DN Nagar to Dahisar and will have 17 stations over a stretch of 18.6 km. Whereas the Metro line 7 on the Red Line connecting Dahisar East and Andheri East will have 13 stations over a stretch of 16.5 km.

Goa International Airport Wins The Best Sustainable Greenfield Airport Award

For the excellent initiatives taken by GMR Goa International Airport (GGIAL) to implement sustainability, it received the award for the “Best Sustainable Greenfield Airport”. The award was presented by the Union Miniter of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia during the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India’s (ASSOCHAM) Conference cum Awards for Civil Aviation held on January 19.  Meanwhile, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) received the award for the “Best Sustainable Airport of the Year.”

Sri Lanka Announces Revised COVID-19 Travel Guidelines

After dropping all the COVID -19 travel restrictions in December 2022, Sri Lanka has revised the entry requirements due to the rising COVID-19 cases worldwide. As per the latest guidelines, all vaccinated travelers arriving in Sri Lanka must provide their vaccination certificates, whereas unvaccinated travelers are required to present a copy of a negative PCR test report with the test taken at least 72 hours before their departure.

IndiGo Announces New Flights

One of the most well-known domestic airlines in India, IndiGo (GoFirst) is set to launch 28 new flights. Out of these 28, there will be 16 Republic Day Special Flights operating between January 19 and 26. The other 12 flights will start operations from February 1 in Raipur – Mumbai, Mumbai – Rajkot, Guwahati – Agartala, Kolkata – Guwahati, Bengaluru – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru – North Goa, Port Blair – Chennai, Chennai – Ahmedabad sectors. It was also announced that from February 5, new direct flights between Huballi and Pune will also begin operations.

Tourism Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Jaiveer Singh is certain Gorakhpur will soon surpass Kerala in terms of Vedic wellness. This statement came after the Tourism Minister witnessed the state of the art technology, hi tech resources, modern equipment, and other facilities on his visit to Mahayogi Gorakhnath University. The university also houses the Guru Shri Gorakshnath Institute of Medical Sciences (Ayurveda College), a hospital, and a Vedic-Ayurveda wellness center.

Travel From Kovalam To Goa Via Cruise Soon

The Kerala Government has announced a Kerala to Goa cruise, which will connect major tourist destinations along the coast. Jyotirlinga Yatra Special Tourist Train Launched By IRCTC

A special Bharat Gaurav train was launched by the IRCTC under the Dekho Apna Desh initiative of the government, that will take its passengers on a Jyotirlinga Yatra. Starting on February 4 and ending on February 12, this train will make a stop at cities like Veraval, Dwarka, Nashik, Aurangabad, and Pune in 8 nights and 9 days.

Bangalore To Add Intra-City Helicopter Services Under The BLADE India Initiative

Good news for all those planning a Bangalore trip!! The most loved city of India, Bangalore which is also the IT hub of India is also famous for its traffic jams, but this may change soon thanks to the increase in helicopter services in Bangalore. Lahaul To Remain Closed For Tourists Till February 28

But, sadly this famous tourist attraction is closing its doors to tourists for 50 days with effect from January 15 to celebrate their local religious festivals such as – Halda, Dron, and Puna. As per the statement released by Gram Panchayat of Sissu, Lahual, “We need absolute silence in the region, so not only the village but also Sissu’s lake, nursery, and helipad will be closed. We want a few tourist-free days.”
