PM Modi Flagged Off 2 New Vande Bharat Trains In Mumbai
On February 10, PM Modi flagged off 2 Vande Bharat Trains in Mumbai. These are the first of the intra-state Vande Bharat Trains within the state of Maharashtra which will be operating on the Mumbai – Solapur, and Mumbai – Sainagar Shirdi routes. Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw recently said that the Railways plans to roll out 2 to 3 new Vande Bharat Trains per week by the end of the next financial year.

Air Suvidha Forms Discontinued
On February 9, the Indian Government issued its updated COVID-19 travel guidelines for international travelers. International arrivals will no longer be required to upload their negative pre-departure COVID-19 test results and their self declaration form on the Air Suvidha Portal. However, random testing of 2% of all international travelers will still be conducted.
Singapore Lifts Travel Restrictions
Singapore’s Ministry of Health recently announced that from February 13, international travelers will no longer be required to provide a proof of negative pre-departure COVID-19 test upon their arrival in Singapore. Furthermore, the travelers will no longer be required to be fully vaccinated, provide a proof of vaccination, or buy travel insurance in order to visit the country.
Qatar Announces Extension Of Hayya Cards Validity And Makes Travel Insurance Mandatory

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has announced that they will be extending the validity of Hayya Cards till January 24, 2024. Hayya Cards were recently introduced for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, to aid in hassle free travel for visitors and act as a multiple entry permit to Qatar. In addition to this, the Ministry of Public Health made travel insurance a mandatory entry requirement for all visitors planning to visit Qatar.
4 More Indian Airports To Provide Digi Yatra Service
From the month of March, 4 more airports in India will be providing travelers with paperless boarding and check-in service known as Digi Yatra. So far this service is only available at the Varanasi, Delhi, and Bengaluru airports. As per the statement released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Airports Authority of India will be implementing this service at the Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kolkata airports.

IndiGo Announces New Flights
From March 26 onwards, IndiGo plans to operate flights on new domestic and international routes. In the international sector, the airline plans to operate flights from India to Middle Eastern cities on the Abu Dhabi – Chennai, Chennai – Muscat, and Abu Dhabi – Hyderabad routes. Whereas the domestic sector will see the addition of direct flights from Delhi to Dharamshala.
Vistara To Start New Flights
Vistara is all set to start flight operations on new routes in the month of March. From March 1, the airline will commence operating flights to Colombo and Dammam from Mumbai along with starting 5 weekly flights between Mumbai and Mauritius starting from March 26.
