All set for your most awaited trip to Spain, but worried about the visa process, visa rejection? Every year, thousands of travellers plan an overseas trip but are confused about how to obtain the Spain visa successfully.

Read on to find out some of the most common reasons for Spain visa rejection:

 1. Incomplete application form

While applying for the Spain tourist visa, ensure accuracy and consistency. The details that you fill in should be 100% correct and you must not leave any blanks in the visa application form. Incomplete visa forms can lead to delays or even rejection of your visa.

2. Failure to present all required documentation:

When you apply for the Spain visa, make sure you submit all the documents necessary for processing the visa. In case you miss any document, the Embassy will not accept your application. Many applicants miss out on certain documents considering it to be unimportant and face further consequences.

3. Providing false information/false document:

If you commit this kind of a mistake, there’s no other way than facing a visa rejection. In fact, you may even be blacklisted from applying for the visa again. Honesty plays a big role in the Schengen visa application. Applying for a visa with the pillars of false documents or information is unacceptable and inappropriate in every manner. This will directly lead to your Spain visa rejection.

4. Inconsistent signature:

The signature that you use on the form should match with the signature on your passport. An inconsistent signature alone can be one major reason for visa refusal.

5. Damaged or Invalid passport:

Passport is one of those travel documents that play an important role in the whole visa process and there must not be any adjustments with the same. The Embassy does not accept passports that are damaged, stained or has missing pages. Also, your passport must have a validity of a minimum of six months with two blank pages and should not be older than 10 years.

6. Insufficient funds:

In case of suspicion of insufficient funds to cover the trip, your visa can be denied. The Embassy wants to see you have sufficient funds to cover yourself while you are in Spain. Therefore, we recommend you submit your bank statements, Income tax, returns and other financial documents such as fixed deposits, properties to prove your strong financial status.

7. Failing to prove your return to home country:

If you fail to prove that you have no plans to return to India, you can face a visa rejection. To avoid this reason try to back up your application with reasons that would keep you bound to return to your home country. Show certain social & financial, ties in order to have an upper hand on the same such as your job, family etc.

8. A threat to the Schengen country:

If you are considered a threat to the Schengen country by any chance, then your visa will get rejected. If you have any ongoing criminal cases, you won’t be allowed to leave the country.

9. Invalid travel insurance:

Failure to provide travel insurance can be another reason why you faced a visa rejection. Travel Insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30000 and valid for the whole of Schengen area including Spain is a mandatory document for visa processing.

10. Lack of travel itinerary:

While submitting the application for your Spain visa, make sure you have provided an appropriate day-wise itinerary, including all the details on hotel bookings, Schengen countries to be visited, sightseeings to be done etc. In order for the Embassy to issue a Schengen visa valid for all 26 countries, it is imperative that applicants submit an itinerary that covers their complete travel plans.
