The survival adventures of Bear Grylls are famous worldwide. Many Indian celebs have joined the survivor in his feat and the latest addition to the list is Bollywood star, Ranveer Singh. The star has marked his OTT Debut with Netflix India’s first-of-a-kind interactive special, ‘Ranveer Vs Wild with Bear Grylls’.

Ranveer embarked on this adventurous journey but with a special mission on his mind and his heart. In the trailer, Ranveer Singh says: “Pyaar ke liye log chaand taare tod ke laate hain, main Deepika ke liye ek phool tod ke laane waala hoon. Woh bahut special phool hai, woh kabhi marta nahi hai, bilkul mere pyaar ki tarah. (People move heaven and earth for love, I’m going to find a special flower for Deepika. Like my love for her, it never dies.)” Ranveer is set out to get his wife Deepika a very special and rare flower- ‘Serbian Ramonada’.

The trailer of the show promised a lot of wildness and the show (premiered on 8th July 2022) did serve its audience well. The basic premise of the show was to survive. Both Ranveer and Bear had to survive for 36 hours to get to complete their goal while navigating through jungles, rock faces, caves and other challenging landscapes. Not only this, but throughout the journey, the duo also encountered bears, wolves, snakes and more.
The show starts off in a random forest in Serbia, wherein Ranveer Singh gets saved by Bear Grylls while running from an actual bear. To promote the show, the actor had asked his fans to create memes from the show and the netizens have left no stone unturned. Some of these memes are as wild as the show.

Some of the hilarious memes featured replies “When maths teacher asks you to solve the question on the board.” another user tweeted, “12-year old me going to tell mom that I want chart paper for the project tomorrow.” or “When I send a meme on a family group that wasn’t supposed to go there.” there was no stopping to these innumerable memes. Many other lines from the 1 hour 10 minutes special interactive episode were used to make these memes. Many girls even went crazy over the idea of Ranveer Singh, a highly established superstar, ravaging through jungles and forests and encountering animals to get his wife actress Deepika Padukone a rare flower and wished for the same.

- Ranveer Singh decided that the right time to recite a Shayari (poetry) was while hanging between a cliff, while Bear Grylls waited for him on the other side.
- The reason Ranveer went on this mission was to shower his wife Deepika with love. Ranveer reminisces about his first time meeting actress-wife Deepika Padukone and it is no short of a fairytale meet.
- Survival makes you do weird things and it made Bear use Ranveer’s underwear to light the fire.
- Even in the wild, Ranveer had his flamboyant charm on and he danced in the jungle to distract the animals. Hilarious!
- Bear Grylls is known to grill out his companions while surviving in the wild. The actor broke down and sobbed due to immense pain, but this man on a mission did not give up.
- Ranveer quite hilariously jumped, shouted and freaked out on seeing snakes in the wild.

The show however received mixed reviews from the viewers:
Some said they absolutely loved the new interactive concept of the show and Ranveer Singh’s energy was as phenomenal as always. While some said that the show seemed fake and scripted, to the point where even scenes involving animals were shot from different angles. It lacked the original Bear Grylls kind of format, said others. Some even wished that in the end, they could have shown Deepika Padukone receiving the flower from her husband and her reaction to the same.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh met back in 2012 and started dating while working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram-Leela’. They got married in 2018 in Lake Como, Italy. On the work front, Ranveer last appeared in ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ and in ‘83’ before that. The actor’s upcoming movies include ‘Cirkus’, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘The comedy of Errors’ and ‘Rocky and Rani ki Prem Kahani’ alongside Alia Bhatt.
