Yes! The hearts of millions of Bollywood bluffs shattered when Karan Johar took to social media to announce that his talk show Koffee with Karan will not be returning for another season. But this was just a bait to announce the show’s shift to a 24-hour online streaming platform Disney+Hotstar.

Ofcourse, it is KJO’s show and he would return with something which is bigger, better and coffee that is piping hot, while the celebs spill some tea on the oh-so infamous couch.

Since the show first aired in 2004, with the evergreen couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol gracing the couch, through the 18 years and 6 seasons, a lot has happened on the show. So many celebrities, so much gossip, so much drama and some controversies but never enough entertainment. The hit chat show is now a ‘cringe-binge’ for many. And who better to bring all this to our screens than the ever flamboyant- Karan Johar himself! This man is loved and hated equally for his larger-than-life films, opulent personality or his exclusive love for launching the star kids (the nepo-bias).

While some celebrities would die to sip coffee with Karan on the couch, some celebs are not interested in coming on the show and giving answers according to the format of the show, for example, Ranbir Kapoor.

Before we plunge into the 7th season, let’s rewind and have a look at some of the unforgettable moments from the past:

The political debacle by debutante Alia Bhatt, who said Prithviraj Chauhan when asked who was the President of India?
Katrina saying she would look good on-screen with Vicky Kaushal and the latter blushing in the following episode. The cherry on the cake, these two are married now.

What should you be expecting from Koffee with Karan Season 7? A lot of secret revelations, gossip and gleefully scandalous opinions. This time, there is also a live audience for the show that will vote for the rapid-fire rounds.

Some of the guests who will be appearing on the couch this season:

1. Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt:

Ranveer & Alia, the ‘Sakhis’ as they called themselves, appeared in the first episode of the season. Their episode was released on 7th July. The duo appeared on-screen together in Gully Boy (2019) and have grown close ever since. There could be no shortage of entertainment when Ranveer Singh is on-screen. But, Papa Jo was more inquisitive of the developments in Alia’s life with marriage and a kid on the way. Calling them on the show together was most likely a part of promotional activities for the duo’s upcoming movie, ‘Rocky and Rani ki Prem Kahani’.

2. Jahnvi Kapoor & Sara Ali Khan:

The new gen of star kids is here and they are here to slay. Once pitted against each other, these new pair of B-town besties can be seen together now in gyms and on vacations. This episode is sure going to be filled with a lot of spilled tea, spice and sass. Jahnvi last appeared on the show with half-brother Arjun Kapoor and Sara with dad Saif Ali Khan. In the trailer, Saa can be seen spilling some beans on her ex and future love interests while Janhvi comfortably sips on the coffee.

3. Vijay Deverakonda & Ananya Pandey:

It being South superstar Vijay Deverakonda’s Koffee debut, he will be accompanied by his co-actor Ananya Pandey from their upcoming sports action movie ‘Liger’. While the trailer doesn’t reveal much about the episode, it will surely be an interesting one. The last time Ananya was on the show, she was dating Ishaan Khatter, but now they have reportedly broken up. Karan will be curious to find out if there is anyone new in her life. Karan will also be interested in Vijay’s personal life. While Vijay is famous for his role in Arjun Reddy, not much is known about his personal life. Ananya last appeared in Gehraiyaan with Deepika Padukone and Sidhaant Chaturvedi.

4. Shahid Kapoor & Kiara Advani:

Kiara Advani is about to make her Koffee with Karan debut with veteran Shahid Kapoor, who apparently has hardly missed a single season on the show. The duo will be celebrating 3 years of their movie ‘Kabir Singh’ on the sets of Koffee with Karan. Shahid is infamous for being on the couch with his alleged girlfriends, some actual ones, wife Mira Rajput and half-brother Ishaan Khatter. Owing to the funny nature of the duo and KJo, this will be one funny episode. Kiara was last seen in JugJug Jeeyo and Bhool Bhulaiya 2 while Shahid starred in the Hindi remake- Jersey.

5. Akshay Kumar & Samantha Ruth Prabhu:

A grand Koffee debut for Samantha with superstar Akki was all she could wish for. While Akshay struggles to express his unlikeliness towards filters (gets confused with fillers), Samantha accuses KJo to be the reason for unhappy marriages, for displaying them wrongly in his movies. In one of the promotional videos, Samantha is seen saying that marriages are not K3G (Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham) but more like K.G.F. Samantha’s last movie Pushpa 2 was a super hit at the box-office while Akshay has two movies coming up in 2022.
