1. Check Visa Requirements

Depending on where you’re flying, you need to ensure that you have a valid visa and all other documents that would be required not only at the airport to verify your identity but also in the country you’re visiting, as your identity and stay proof.

2. Check flights

Flight search is no longer click and book. There are many factors that go into booking a cheap flight ticket, more important the one that best suits your plans. You need to research flights that are flying to your travel destination. Also, check whether there are direct flights or you need to book a connecting flight. If you’re taking a connecting flight, ensure that you have enough time to change flights at the layover destination. You also need to ensure that the connecting flight shouldn’t be too long that it leaves you strained out and tired. Calculate the total traveling time in the aircraft and then go ahead with the flight booking.

3. Booking a cheap air ticket:

Getting a cheap air ticket is not as tough as it sounds. Of course, the basis of getting a cheap air ticket is to book well in advance of your travel. Last minute booking always burns a hole in your pocket! It is also advisable to check various websites offering the same flight and compare the fares. Avoid season rush if you can as fares skyrocket during festivals, extended weekends and vacations. Also, as early morning flights are generally preferred by business travelers and hence can carry a premium, avoid traveling at those hours if it is not upsetting your schedule. So you need to plan your travel smartly to leverage the offers available in the market.

4. Packing:

Before you start packing make a list of essentials and a list of all the other things that you need to pack. Essentials will include your visa documents, airline ticket, any medication, camera etc, basis your purpose of travel. You must pack your clothes efficiently ensuring it occupies the least space and is convenient to remove once you reach your destination.

5. Check Weather conditions:

This is a very important point in your travel checklist. You must check the weather conditions of the destination you’re traveling to as you need to pack clothes accordingly, brace for transfers from airports etc. Sounds very common-sense like but trust you me, not many make a note and regret later!

6. Currency and finances:

No matter where you’re traveling, whether domestic or international, it is very important to be financially backed up and has sufficient funds. It goes without saying that if you’re traveling internationally, you need to get your currency exchanged and keep sufficient funds in your account and also carry enough cash for the journey expenditures. You would not want to get stranded on foreign shores due to such a slip-up!

7. Vaccines and health updates:

Make sure that you do your research well regarding the disease outbreaks in your travel destination and in case of any, make sure you are vaccinated and ready to face the challenges in your journey. Certain international countries require a list of vaccinations for the travelers to take before they land in their country; so please update yourself from the official website of the country you’re traveling to or speak to someone at the embassy or the consulate and get yourself a list of vaccines required and get yourself vaccinated. Most important.

Bon Voyage!
