1 Damnoan Saduak

The most popular of Bangkok’s floating markets, Damnoan Saduak is everything you would expect it to be. Fruit laden boats gently bobbing over narrow canals. Street side vendors selling toys, t-shirts and trinkets. And steaming hot coconut pancakes sold by grey haired Thai aunties. Now that’s what I call a market.

2 Taling Chan

Unlike the other floating markets on this list, Taling Chan is only 12km from Bangkok which makes it great for a quick afternoon trip. The market offers authentic Thai food, fresh flowers, handicrafts and the odd masseuse selling a foot rub. Taling Chan is as Thai as it gets.

3 Amphawa

Located 50km from Bangkok, Amphawa is one of the best floating markets in Bangkok. Take a boat tour around the canals and stop at the Wat Bang Koong, an ancient temple that looks like it has been swallowed by a tree. This floating market stays open from noon till 8pm giving you a chance for some rare shut eye on your Thailand holiday.

4 Tha Kha

Not far from another star on our list Amphawa, Tha Kha is a quieter alternative to its more popular neighbour. You get the same fresh produce and authentic food without the hordes of selfie stick toting tourists. 5 Bang Phli

One of the oldest floating markets in the Thailand, Bang Phli has been around since the 1800s. It is situated a mere 30km from Bangkok; getting to the market takes about as long as getting a Thailand Visa.
