Scour through the list below to see what all activities would keep you engaged in Kuala Lumpur at night:
1. Dinner at Atmosphere 360, Menara KL Tower:
The skyline of Kuala Lumpur at night is a beautiful sight and it can be best experienced from a height of 421 metres in the sky. Head to Atmosphere 360 situated in the Menara KL Tower, an exquisite location in the city for a unique dining experience in a revolving restaurant with a serene view. Since the restaurant is open 360, it adds up to the majestic view of the city. Another added feature to the restaurant is the luxurious meal, especially the dinner buffets. There are two dinner buffet timings, the first one is from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and the second one is from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Most of them prefer the second timing. They specialise in Asian dishes like Stir-fried Chilli Crab, Rendang Tok, assorted dim sums and Venison with Black Pepper sauce. You may also spot a celeb or two while dining here.

So every night the two musical fountains in the lake present over 150 unique programmed animations in magical performance combined with sound, lights and water.

3. KL City of Lights Tour:
This would hands down be the best way to explore the city of Kuala Lumpur at night. In the KL City of Lights Tour, the ride on the hop-on and hop-off bus brings you around the popular spots and attractions across the city. Watch all these places beautifully lit up under the night skyline of Malaysia, minus the day crowd, on a comfortable double-decker bus ride. The bus has an English-speaking tour guide. You can expect to see places like Petronas Twin Towers, KL tower, the National Palace, Dataran Merdeka and many more. This would be a fun and unique way to explore the city, especially if you are a group of family or friends.
Tip: It is advisable to get there at least half an hour early so that you can grab the seats on the open-air upper deck, relatively better viewing seats. You can also book your tickets online in advance.
4. Exploring Petaling Street:
Exploring the night market of Petaling Street is the most Malaysian experience. Situated in the Chinatown of Kuala Lumpur, here you will uncover a great mix of the city’s culture, heritage and history. Shopping and eating are two activities you can do in this night market. You can shop from an array of goods like imitation goods, bags, clothes, watches and other items at really affordable prices. You can also find souvenir goods of all kinds to take back home.
After the shopping you can try the delicious Malaysian street snacks, there are also local cafes and restaurants around. The Kwai Chai Hong alley is a great spot to learn about the history of the area with interactive street art and murals. For a fun cultural adventure also explore the nearby Central Market.
Address: Kuala Lumpur City Centre, 50450 Kuala Lumpur.
Timings: Open 24 hours, livelier at night.
5. Glittering Fireflies and Night Tour to Kuala Selangor:
One of the few nature activities that can be done in Kuala Lumpur at night is seeing the fireflies with a trip to Kuala Selangor. In the quaint village of Kampung Kuantan take a boat ride to the Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park. Here as you move forward in the pitch darkness you will be greeted by glittering fireflies on either side of the water. You can also book a dinner boat ride. This would be a truly unique experience for the tourists, especially a lifetime experience for kids.
Other things to do in the Selangor area are Kota Melawati (an old fort), the Royal Mausoleum and Kuala Selangor Bird Park. All these activities can be done before going to watch the fireflies.
Address: Jalan Haji Omar, Kampung Bukit Belimbing, Kuala Selangor.
6. Enjoy in Bukit Bintang:
Bukit Bintang offers a lot of activities for tourists wanting to explore Kuala Lumpur at night. Dive into the amazing street food as well as the party scenes here in Bukit Bintang. The streets of Changkat are lined up with pubs, clubs and restaurants making it one of the liveliest places in Kuala Lumpur. To truly have a full experience, don’t stick to one of the places. Rather go bar hopping with your group and enjoy beers, cocktails, food and the party atmosphere.
This is also a great place to meet new people from different countries. You can enjoy the seafood street dishes and Chinese vibes at Jalan Alor, ‘Dining in the Dark’ a unique sensory dining experience of having dinner in the dark, enjoy a beautiful view of the city at Heli Lounge Bar and you can end the night with a relaxing body and foot massage.
