1. CentralWorld
Home to over 500 departmental stores and 100 restaurants, CentralWorld offers one of the largest ‘mallscapes’ in all of Bangkok. It is the largest mall in Thailand and the tenth largest shopping complex in the world. Originally called the World Trade Center, the eight-story mall was opened in 1990. With its sleek glass facade and floors littered with global giants in fashion and cosmetics, restaurants and cafes, a trendy food court, a large supermarket, Kids’ Zone, an outdoor square for events and even an ice-skating rink. Notable luxury labels include Zara, Izzue and Timberland while MNG is also among the other luxury labels vying for your attention at this sprawling complex. 2. Siam Paragon
Siam Paragon is one of the biggest shopping complexes in Asia. Established in 2005 at a cost of $450 million, Siam Paragon is an upscale luxury shopping mall centrally located in the heart of Bangkok. It boasts of a sprawling selection of high-end designers, fashion and lifestyle brands, gourmet restaurants and entertainment options such as a multiplex movie theater, the Siam Ocean World Aquarium (largest aquarium in South East Asia), Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum Bangkok, an exhibition hall, Thai Art Gallery, an opera concert hall, a large bowling alley and karaoke center. The mall has all the flash of an upscale shopping venue, which attracts large crowds. Siam Paragon also boasts of a gourmet supermarket, an 8,000 square meter foodies’ heaven grocery store on the ground floor.
3. Future Park Rangsit
Future Park Rangsit is one of Asia’s largest malls and a hot favourite among locals and tourists. Future Park was opened in 1995 covering 280,000 square feet. The mall houses over 100 lifestyle fashion stores, 70 restaurants and food outlets. Entertainment options include multiplex cinemas and D-Cine private theaters, which feature karaoke and on-demand movies as needed. Besides offering shopping, eating and entertainment options, the expanded mall will now also features futsal courts, an ice-skating rink, indoor ski park and art installations.
4. Central Festival Pattaya Beach
Termed the best shopping mall in Pattaya, Central Festival Pattaya Beach is a prominent destination for both shopping and dining enthusiasts. Opened in 2009 with some 200,000m2 plus of luxury retail space, it has seven floors of shopping, dining, and entertainment available to visitors. Top luxury brands include Zara, H&M, Victoria’s secret, Esprit, Zara, Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss. Apart from designer clothing and high end goods, the mall boasts one of the best food courts found anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard. This shopping mall in Thailand is also a great place to keep the kids amused. Activities include cinema, tenpin bowling, bumper cars and arcade games. There is also a bowling alley at Pattaya Central Festival Beach Mall, that’s cheap entertainment for all the family.
This mall is the perfect place for those looking to splash a little cash on some designer clothing, high end electrical items or top notch home wares. Central festival is also home to the 5 star Hilton hotel Pattaya.
5. Mega Bangna
Located half way between Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Bangkok, Megabangna is Southeast Asia’s first low-rise super regional mall, and plays host to around 40 million visitors per year. This mall offers 35,0000 square metres of shopping and dining heaven and is home to a massive IKEA store, becoming the first shopping mall of its kind in the region. Apart from IKEA, other large stores like HomePro, Robinson and Super C Hypermarket are also found in Mega Bangna mall, providing visitors with everything they need. A ‘Disneyland’ of shopping, the centre is divided into different precincts that include main street, a home furnishing district, canal walk, family dining district, evening dining district and entertainment and wellness district. At Mega Bangna, the accent is clearly on ‘mega’ with an oversized ice rink, 24 lane bowling alley, large Cineplex and a car park that can accommodate over 10000 vehicles.
6. The Mall Nakhon Ratchasima
Opened in 2000, The Mall Nakhon Ratchasima, also known as The Mall Korat is one of the largest shopping centres in the northeastern region of Thailand. It is located on Mittraphan Road in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) province. The Mall Korat houses a wide variety of shops and restaurants, bars, entertainment facilities, surrounding park and major landmarks – all contained within a huge area. This mall has quickly earned a reputation as the perfect place to spend the weekend with friends and family, indulge in binge shopping or to pick up everyday household needs.
